Running back Cam Akers will be returning to U.S. Bank Stadium this season, but he will not be doing so in a Minnesota Vikings uniform.
Numerous reports have surfaced that Akers has signed a deal with the Houston Texans. The Vikings will host the Texans in Week 3 this season.
The Vikings traded for Akers during the first month of the 2023 season and he eventually secured a role as the primary backup to Alexander Mattison. That lasted approximately six weeks because Akers suffered an Achilles injury in the team’s victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
