MINNEAPOLIS -- Two years ago, Hall of Fame coach Bud Grant held his 10th garage sale in the driveway of his Bloomington, Minnesota, house, marking his 87th birthday by holding the event for what he said would be the last time.
Nobody in his family believed him then, and after Grant widely publicized the sale for the first time that year, it turned into a celebration of sorts for the greatest coach in Minnesota Vikings history. A year later, Grant was on Twitter, hawking items for another installment of the sale. And this week, when the coach turns 89, he'll commemorate the occasion by doing what he's done the last two years: Sitting in his driveway, signing autographs for fans and telling stories about the relics they bought from his basement.
