A day after giving Kirk Cousins a truckload of cash, the Minnesota Vikings made another splash in free agency when they signed defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson. The 2013 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year will join a Vikings’ defensive line next season that was already one of the league’s scariest even before his arrival.
With the addition of Richardson, however, Minnesota felt the need to free up some more cap space and it ultimately resulted in the release of veteran wide receiver Jarius Wright.
On this week’s episode of the Bleeding Purple Podcast, Tyler and I talked about these two pieces of news and a number of Vikings-related topics including…
- The Vikings actually signed Sheldon Richardson
- Richardson’s run-ins with the law
- Treadwell’s cryptic tweet
- Cordarrelle Patterson heading to New England
