The group said the protest was in support of Marcus Abrams, a 17-year-old with Asperger's syndrome who was forcefully arrested by Metro Transit officers Aug. 31 at the Lexington Parkway station.
Abrams and his mother attended, along with about 80 protesters. The group marched onto the light rail tracks at Lexington and University Avenue, continuing west to Hamline Avenue, and assembling outside a police station on Hamline before marching back to Lexington and University
Metro Transit rerouted Green Line riders between Raymond Avenue and the Capitol on buses. A handful of would-be riders showed up at the closed stations before moving on.
