ATLANTA -- After the Minnesota Vikings decided not to address the safety position next to Harrison Smith in the draft, general manager Rick Spielman summed up the spot in a way that suggested second-year man Antone Exum was on the verge of surpassing veterans Robert Blanton and Andrew Sendejo.
"One thing I can tell you is, definitely Exum from last year who made the conversion from corner to safety, we’re very excited also about the progress he has made," Spielman said on May 2. "With Blanton and Sendejo, I think we know what those guys are, but you know Exum is someone we're definitely going to be keeping a close eye on and see how well he comes along from last year.
