Alex Boone, Eric Kendricks return from concussions to practice for Vikings

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings got some good news with two of their key starters as they began preparations for the Washington Redskins.

Guard Alex Boone and linebacker Eric Kendricks, who both missed Sunday's game with the Detroit Lions because of concussions, were full participants in Wednesday's practice, meaning they've been cleared from the NFL's concussion protocol. The return of Kendricks, especially, could be critical as the Vikings get ready for a Redskins offense that leans heavily on a short passing game.

Running back Jerick McKinnon was also a full participant after dealing with an ankle injury that still left him "a tad gimpy," according to coach Mike Zimmer, against the Lions on Sunday.
