After Further Review: Speed and Strength? All Day

Adrian Peterson’s final carry Sunday was also the fastest by any player in the NFL in Week 10.

Peterson cut to the edge around a wall formed by tight ends Kyle Rudolph, Rhett Ellison and MyCole Pruitt. He broke through an arm tackle and mashed the gas.

NFL Media’s Bucky Brooks used NextGen stats to illustrate that Peterson topped out at 21.17 miles per hour to break away from defenders on the back breaker that gave Minnesota a 30-14 lead with 1:50 remaining in the game.

When the coast was clear, Peterson put it on cruise control the rest of the way, but not before reaching a speed that was faster than players five, six, seven and eight years younger did in games across the league.
