GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Adrian Peterson will become the eighth player in NFL history to win at least three rushing titles, and the second-oldest single-season rushing leader in NFL history.
The Minnesota Vikings running back was virtually assured of the top spot in the league before kickoff on Sunday night, with Tampa Bay's Doug Martin gaining only 48 yards in the Buccaneers' season-ending loss to the Carolina Panthers. Unless Peterson becomes the 64th player in league history to rush for -17 yards in a game on Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers, he'll be the rushing champion.
