Adrian Peterson ties worst game of his career against Packers

MINNEAPOLIS -- Adrian Peterson entered Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers with 1,648 yards in 14 career games, and he stood a chance to break the 2,000-yard mark in a full season's worth of games with two strong performances this year.

If Peterson is going to get to that milestone, he'll need to break his own single-game rushing record and become the first NFL running back to surpass 300 yards on Jan. 3 in Green Bay.

The Packers held Peterson to just 45 yards on 13 carries yesterday, in a game where the Vikings had to shelve the run once they got behind by 10 at halftime.
