Vikings co-defensive coordinator Andre Patterson said the team should have all eight of the players who sat out Sunday’s practice with presumptive positive COVID-19 tests back on the field for practice on Monday afternoon, after a spate of false positive tests that affected 77 players, coaches and team staffers around the league this weekend.
BioReference Laboratories, the company handling the NFL’s coronavirus testing program, said in a Monday statement that an investigation indicated the positive results were “most likely” erroneous and blamed them on contamination in a New Jersey laboratory.
