Minnesota Vikings fans never want to see their team reach for a need in the NFL Draft, especially in the first round.
During post-draft press conferences, teams will deny until they’re blue in the face that they reached and they will always say the guy they took was the highest-ranked one on their board at the time. This is typically a load of crap and fans know their favorite team was just picking a certain prospect to fill a specific need.
The Vikings have definitely reached in the past. The biggest one that comes to mind is their selection of Christian Ponder back in 2011.
