In today's edition of his popular MMQB column on SI.com, Peter King had some very kind words for the Minnesota Vikings -- even going so far as to rank as the #6 team in his preseason power rankings:
This is reliant on so many things. Adrian Peterson showing up number one. But finding a consistent pass-rush is key too, as is the continued maturity of Teddy Bridgewater. I pick the Vikes here because if you ask me for one rising team if two or three vital things go right, I'm picking Minnesota.
With a full year-plus of continuity under head coach Mike Zimmer, Bridgewater appears primed for a huge leap in year two while the team's defense is widely regarded as the best of the four teams in the NFC North.
Whether that truly adds up to a #6 power ranking and a potential playoff berth will be left up to just how the Vikes deliver on the potential dripping from their their talented, young roster.
