The Minnesota Vikings helped their defense with their first two draft picks, taking Michigan State CB Trae Waynes and UCLA LB Eric Kendricks, but a recent report says they were trying to trade up in the third round to draft former Arizona State WR Jaelen Strong.
Strong was viewed as a late first or early second round pick before the draft, put slipped to the third round where he was drafted by the Houston Texans just six picks before the Vikings.
Minnesota seemed to be targeting wideouts as they did draft a receiver - Maryland's Stefon Diggs - in the fifth round.
