The Wilf family, owners of the Minnesota Vikings, have pledged an additional $19.5 million towards the construction of the team's new stadium in Minneapolis.
Here's Pro Football Talk's Curtis Crabtree with a report on just how those funds will be applied to the project:
According to the Associated Press, the additional funds will go toward enhancements in the plaza, food service equipment, entertainment areas in the stadium, upgrades to retractable seating and a deck that will overlook downtown Minneapolis.
Adding in the $19.5 million, the Minnesota Vikings' total contribution to the new stadium project currently stands at roughly $551 million. At this current stage in the process, that accounts for 52 percent of the funds pledged and/or spent for the project.
The new stadium is still projected to be ready to roll for the beginning of the 2016 NFL season. The Vikings will play its second season at TCF Bank Stadium in 2015, the home of the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
