Now that Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson has had his off-the-field issues dealt with (he pleaded no contest and received one count of misdemeanor reckless assault for whipping one of his children), the NFL has said they intend to move quickly with his personal conduct policy review.
Peterson was placed on the Commissioner-Exempt list prior to Week 2 of the NFL season, and could be taken off when his legal case had concluded. Now that it has, the NFLPA has demanded immediate reinstatement for Peterson.
There a still a few steps in the reinstatement process that Peterson has to go through. The NFL has to review his case file, they want Peterson to meet with experts and have them make recommendations on any further action to Goodell, and they want to hold a hearing.
All of that could take weeks, not days. Either way, it looks like Peterson will have a chance to be back on the field by the end of the season.
