Minnesota Vikings' new stadium will require giant crane for construction

The Minnesota Vikings will spend the 2014 and 2015 NFL seasons playing at the University of Minnesota's TCF Stadium. However, with the help of a giant 400-foot crane, the Vikings will have a brand new stadium to call their very own come 2016.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the giant crane that will help aid in the building of the new Vikings stadium will require 70 truckloads worth of equipment in order for it to be fully transported to the construction site.

Per Florio, "as explained by Rochelle Olson of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Terex Demag CC 6800 crawler crane begins to arrive on Monday.  The parts will show up over a 10-day stretch.  Then, 11 days will be needed to put the crane together."

After it is assembled, the crane will be in service for 15 months as it helps to put the pieces together for a whole new era in Minnesota Vikings football.
