Minnesota Vikings Rumors: Vikings re-sign free agent DT Fred Evans

The past two days, Minnesota Vikings rumors have been focusing on possible free agent signings from outside the franchise. However, the Vikings are also putting their best foot forward to hold on to their own coveted free agents.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Minnesota Vikings have re-signed defensive tackle Fred Evans to a one-year contract--

Fred Evans had been an unrestricted free agent for just about 48 hours before reaching a deal to remain with the Vikings.

Evans appeared in 14 games for the Vikings in 2013, starting in just three of those contests. The eight-year pro has functioned as a backup defensive tackle for the entirety of his career which started (for one year) with the Miami Dolphins. Evans has spent the last seven years of career with the Minnesota Vikings.

According to Pro Football Focus, Evans graded between +1.0 and -1.0--which comes out to almost exactly league average. He was one of just three defensive tackles to have graded in that range in 2013.
