Mike Zimmer, Norv Turner "turning up the volume" at Minnesota Vikings OTAs

The Minnesota Vikings knew they were getting a vocal, tough leader in new head coach Mike Zimmer. They may be a bit more surprised that they're getting the same out of new offensive coordinator Norv Turner as well.

Per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Matt Vensell of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune indicates that "both Zimmer and Turner have been turning up the volume during so-called Organized Team Activities."

Zimmer has been laying into players with abandon as expected, demanding that his players approach their work with their minds on the details.

However, according to Vensal, the usually-quieter Norv Turner has also been voicing his displeasure - snapping at his first-team offense after some confusion in the huddle and also voicing his displeasure when Christian Ponder had a pass knocked down at the line of scrimmage.

Zimmer says he's not worried about whether this new, high-strung approach will cause some players not to buy in to his system:

“I don’t worry about that,” Zimmer said to reporters, via Vensel.  “I don’t worry about if they are buying in.  My job is to coach them hard and try to get them to be the best players they can be.  You’d have to ask them if they are buying in, really.  My job is to coach them.”

The thing that Zimmer didn't say? If some players don't happen to buy in, Zimmer and GM Rick Speilman will most likely do their best to find replacements that do.
