Remember that light that appeared to be at the end of the Viking's tunnel last week? Well, it appears a giant rock slide may have completely covered that sliver of light up, following the Vikings 23-7 loss to the Giants on Monday Night Football.
Josh Freeman's debut for Minnesota was horrendous, to say the least. In fact, his performance in more than one category qualified as the worst mark of all time.
His 16 overthrows were the most since 2006 and accounted for nearly half of his incompletions. Pro Football Focus, who grades QB performance on a per game basis, graded Freeman's performance at -11.3. That is the worst performance since they first began grading in 2008.
Freeman also became only the second quarterback in the last 53 years to throw the football at least 50 times and fail to throw a touchdown or reach 200 yards through the air, according to ESPN Stats and Info.
Despite the bad start, early reports have Freeman starting next Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers.
Here are some of the best tweets from last nights debacle:
"I'm all for opportunity, but midway through the 3rd quarter, he couldn't beat a little league team." - Cris Carter on Josh Freeman

Josh Freeman is not that bad. The fact the Vikes didn't limit his attempts by utilizing THE BEST runner in the game more is mystifying.

Why call that penalty? Why call any penalty? WHY IS THE CLOCK EVEN STOPPED?

keeping up with the kardashians is on if you're looking for something less mind-numbingly painful to watch

each NFL team should have a guy whose job it is to tell the coach, "maybe don't make Josh Freeman throw 53x if you have Adrian Peterson"

Josh Freeman has been so bad, the Vikings are thinking about signing Tim Tebow, which is what we call a Christian Ponder.
