The Minnesota Vikings are looking to make their new stadium as easy to get into as humanly possible, along with making the experience inside nothing short of world class.
According to Rochelle Olson of the Star Tribune, "getting into the new Minnesota Vikings stadium is likely to be even smoother with the addition of six new escalators to its entryway design."
"That will bring the total of main-entry escalators at the Minnesota Multipurpose Stadium to 18," Olson added. "All told, the stadium — scheduled to open in 2016 on the site of the now-vanished Metrodome — will have 33 escalators."
In addition, the Vikings will add 1,180 more televisions to the stadium, bringing the total to a cool 2,000.
“We’re going to have a building that we can move food, people, emergency equipment around in a quick manner,” Ted Mondale, executive director of the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, stated via Olsen's article.
The Vikings are expected to eat the $1.3 million in extra design costs plus the cost of the materials themselves.
