The Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings are currently tied for the top spot in the NFC with identical 10-2 records. If the season were to end today, the Vikings would win the tie-breaker and take home-field advantage in the playoffs.
The Vikings were unfortunate last year with injuries. They were 5-0 at one stage in the season and then it went all downhill from there. They have been much better this season, learning from their mistakes from the past, with 7 straight wins. The ratings are looking good for them. Check out the sign-up offer review for William Hill.
Here is why I think the Vikings are better:
The Vikings have no doubt the best defense in the NFL. They arguably have the best players who fit perfectly for their role. Xavier Rhodes at cornerback with Harrison Smith at safety gives the team huge confidence, with a solid defense around them.
It is safe to say that the Vikings have more experience in their team. The Eagles have only burst onto the scene this year. The Vikings, however, have experience in the playoffs and that is where it matters. The Eagles have not really been challenged yet, smashing every team they've come across. How well can they do in a tight game in the playoffs? It will be a new experience for them.
Offensively they are both very good, but the Vikings may have the upper hand on that after receiving the award for bring one of the worst in 2016. A massive improvement this year just shows how confident this team is, allowing two quarterbacks to succeed so far.
Coach of the year? Certainly, both Doug Pederson and Mike Zimmer are big candidates. It is hard to choose from the two as both teams improved dramatically from last season. Zimmer however has hurdles through injuries, heartbreaks, plenty of defeats and quarterback controversy. His team is still together and looking better than ever.
Better playmakers than the Eagles? It is hard to compare but the Vikings have the most underrated trio in the NFL. Stefon Diggs, Kyle Rudoph and Adam Thielen. Alshon Jeffery and Zach Ertz are high quality too but do not forget Jerick McKinnon and Latavius Murray who have emerged after Dalvin Cook’s injury.
