The 5-2 Minnesota Vikings host the 3-4 St. Louis Rams in a game that will have an impact on the NFC wild card race. The Vikings are slim favorites, and they'll cover the spread with ease. Here are three reasons why Vikings will BLOW OUT the Rams this weekend.
3. Adrian Peterson
The Rams have a strong run defense, but Peterson will still get his yards. He's simply too good not to, and he might want to prove to Todd Gurley that he's still the top running back in the NFL. Gurley and Peterson won't face off on the field, but there are plenty of storylines focusing on the two running backs with similar styles. Peterson will have a great game against the Rams, allowing the Vikings to keep Gurley off the field and make life easier on Teddy Bridgewater.
2. Superior QB
Nick Foles is the more experienced QB, but Bridgewater is a better QB right now. Bridgewater is completing a higher percentage of his passes, has more yards and a better QB rating. His QBR is vastly better than Foles' and Bridgewater avoids the disaster-type games that Foles has. Bridgewater is far from a finished project as a QB, but he's better than Foles right now. He's a big reason why the Vikings will be able to handle the Rams this weekend.
1. Dynamite Defense
Only one team in the NFL is giving up fewer points than the Vikings. Minnesota is allowing a mere 17.4 points per game, and the defense is the biggest reason why the Vikings have started the season so well. Mike Zimmer's unit has shown they can shut down any opponent, as no team has scored 24 points on them this season. Gurley and Foles will struggle against the best defense they've faced and won't have the same level of success they've had in recent weeks. With a dynamite defense, the Vikings will handle the Rams with ease this weekend.
