The Minnesota Vikings hold the No. 23 overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft after losing the Seahawks in the wild card round of the playoffs, and are looking to draft another impact player to help make them a legit Super Bowl contender next year. Here are three players they should target in the first round of the draft:
WR Josh Doctson
Minnesota really needs to upgrade their receiving core, and Doctson is someone who can step in and contribute immediately. He tore up the field at TCU, racking up 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns on 79 catches in 10 games. He has excellent size at 6'3" and 195 lbs, making him an excellent red zone threat, and he also has elite route-running skills. Doctson isn't the fastest or the quickest guy in the draft, but he'll catch anything you throw at him.
WR Will Fuller
If Doctson is off the board, Fuller will be Minnesota's guy. He's a true deep threat, posting the second-fastest 40-yard dash time (4.32) at the NFL Combine this year and averaged over 20 yards per catch at Notre Dame last year. Minnesota has been looking for a guy who can stretch the defense ever since Randy Moss left, and Fuller could be the player the Vikings were hoping Mike Wallace would be.
OL Taylor Decker
After wide receiver, the offensive line might be the most pressing need for Minnesota. Decker could very well still be on the board when the Vikings pick, and if they do, they will jump all over it. At 6'7" and 310 lbs, Decker has exceptional size and strength to go along with being extremely tough. He may need time to adjust to the speed on the NFL, but his overall strength and powerful drive will make him a very, very good player right away.
