3 Top Draft Needs For The Vikings In The 2015 NFL Draft

The Minnesota Vikings showed improvement in 2014, as the young team went 7-9 without star running back Adrian Peterson. Minnesota still has some areas they need to address to take the next step and become a playoff team. Here's where the Vikings are most likley to go in the draft:

OFFENSIVE LINE

Minnesota desperately needs a left tackle since Matt Kalil, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2012 draft, led the league in pressures allowed for most of the season. Brandon Scherff from Iowa and Cedric Ogbuehi from Texas A&M are the potential first-round draft picks.

RUNNING BACK

Adrian Peterson's future with the Vikings is up in the air, and it's important for Minnesota to have a backup plan. The position has been largely devalued in recent years, and Jerick McKinnon proved he could be a good change-of-pace back in his rookie year. Nebraska's Ameer Abdullah or Florida State's Karlos Williams are good options if Minnesota goes in this direction.

WIDE RECEIVER

Cordarrelle Patterson is developing into a top-notch receiver, but quarterback Teddy Bridgewater needs more weapons. Greg Jennings is getting older, and Jarius Wright and Charles Johnson were largely inconsistent last year. Louisville's DeVante Parker and Stanford's Ty Montgomery are the best options for the Vikings.
