The Minnesota Vikings will have plenty of options to choose from in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft when they hit the clock at #11. However, there’s just a select few guys who’ll be at the top of the team’s wishlist heading into the festivities in Chicago. Here’s our list of 3 Players The Vikings Are Likely To Draft In The 1st Round.
CB Trae Waynes - Michigan State
Minnesota’s depth chart at cornerback could use a jolt of young talent, and the lightning-fast Waynes has the pure athletic talent and excellent field vision to help with that considerably. He is a pure press corner who wraps up with very solid fundamentals, and he’s got the recovery speed to chase down the speediest of wide receivers in a dead foot race. Minnesota should be considered a favorite for his services at this juncture.
OL Brandon Scherff - Iowa
Extremely tough to move off of his spot, Scherff’s 6’5″, 319 lb frame carries with it enormous power that showcases itself in the weight room. When Scherff gets moving, he drives through opposing defensive linemen while run blocking. Add in the fact that he has a wide frame and smart footwork that allows him to seal things up in the passing game, and Scherff has the potential to be Teddy Bridgewater's main bodyguard for the foreseeable future.
WR DeVante Parker - Louisville
Perhaps the best receiver in this draft not named Amari Cooper or Kevin White, Parker could be Bridgewater's partner in crime for the next decade if the Vikings reach for him at #11. One of the most sure-handed wideouts in recent draft memory, Parker only has three credited drops since 2012. Three! He also has outstanding size and the length to make a ton of catches other receivers only dream of making.
