Multiple reports are stating that Minnesota United’s rookie forward Mason Toye will be joining the Colorado Springs Switchbacks of the United Soccer League (USL).
The move was first reported by Jeff Rueter of The Athletic, and Megan Ryan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported confirmation from manager Adrian Heath.
According to Ryan, Toye will play for the USL team this weekend but return to the Loons as part of a recall option.
Toye would be the third and final member of the current rookie class to go out on loan. Defender Wyatt Omsberg spent a stint with the Tulsa Roughnecks and fullback Carter Manley is currently with Las Vegas Lights FC.
