It’s now well-known that Minnesota United are searching for a new starting goalkeeper to use in the 2019 season.
After a deal for Boca Juniors’ Agustín Rossi fell through, the Loons have had Finnish international Walter Viitala trialing with the team. But now, the club is seemingly looking in a different direction.
Reports from Football London and The Athletic state that Italian ‘keeper Vito Mannone will be heading to United on a one-year loan deal from his current club, Reading FC of the English Championship.
Mannone, who has appeared for the Italian U21 national team, made waves in 2005 when he signed for Arsenal, but his career has since declined.
