Minnesota United FC has announced a loan deal that will send Finland international Rasmus Schuller to Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi (HJK) for the rest of the MLS season.
Schuller, 26, has shone in training since signing with the Loons in January 2017, but has been limited to seven appearances (four starts) due to an unfortunate string of injuries over the first half of the campaign. The midfielder will return to his home country to reunite with HJK, with whom he experienced great success from 2012-15, winning three consecutive league titles and scoring 10 goals in 88 appearances.
“[Rasmus Schuller] has been training really well … The fact that Ibson and [Sam Cronin] have sort of solidified that [defensive midfield] position, we don’t want this last third of the season to sort of taper away from him,” said MNUFC Head Coach Adrian Heath.
