On Saturday, July 15, Minnesota United FC will face off in a friendly against Mexican team Atlas FC at TCF Bank Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Founded in 1916 and based in Guadalajara, Mexico, Atlas FC competes in Mexico’s top division, Liga MX.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting an organization with as deep and storied a history as Atlas FC,” said MNUFC Sporting Director Manny Lagos. “Mexico and the U.S. have long enjoyed a soccer rivalry that has grown the game, and matches like this bring out fans from all nationalities in the spirit of competition.”
This will be the third consecutive year the Loons have played an opponent from Liga MX, having faced Club Leon in 2015 and 2016.
