Minnesota United FC has claimed and signed goalkeeper Alex Kapp off waivers. The former United States Under-17 national team member arrives to the Loons after impressing while training with the club over the past several weeks.
Kapp was selected 68th overall by Atlanta United FC in the fourth round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. Prior to that, the exciting young goalkeeper featured for Boston College from 2012-15 – playing 1,435 of a possible 1,525 minutes in his junior year and ranking fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference in saves per game (3.67) – and Creighton University as a graduate student in 2016, where he was named Big East Goalkeeper of the Year and selected to the NSCAA NCAA Division I All-American Third Team.
