Major League Soccer’s newest club Charlotte FC will unofficially debut tonight as the club will have their expansion draft at 6 PM CT. All clubs in the league unveiled their unprotected list yesterday ahead of tonight’s draft. The league allowed each club to protect 12 players ahead of the draft, with a few exceptions. LA Galaxy, Nashville SC, New York Red Bulls, Orlando City SC, and San Jose Earthquakes who lost players to Austin FC this past season will be entirely protected from having players drafted by Charlotte FC.
Charlotte will be allowed to select five players from the remaining teams, once they select a player from a given team that club will be protected from losing another player in the draft.
