Ike Opara scored two goals, both off corner kicks, and Minnesota United FC continued to show off its scoring prowess with a 5-2 road victory Saturday against the San Jose Earthquakes.
Jan Gregus, Luis Amarilla and Robin Lod also scored first-half goals for Minnesota United (2-0-0), while goalkeeper Tyler Miller had four saves. The Loons earned a 3-1 victory at Portland last Sunday to start the season.
Magnus Eriksson and Valeri Qazaishvili scored goals for the Earthquakes (0-1-1), who were unable to rally for a point like they did in their season opener last weekend against Toronto FC when they trailed by two goals and got even five minutes into second-half stoppage time.
