The University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital received some special visitors when Minnesota United players stopped in to say hello to patients. New Zealand’s Michael Boxall and hometown heroes Eric Miller and Brent Kallman spent the afternoon visiting children. All three players have come to understand how important these visits in the community are. “It was great to meet some of the kids at Children’s,” said Kallman. “It’s always an inspiration to see the courage they possess.”
Goalkeeper Matt Lampson was also in attendance and is no stranger to these familiar hospital visits. A survivor of IVB Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Lampson frequently visits hospitals, spending time with younger patients who are dealing with the day-to-day reality of struggling with a disease.
