On Tuesday afternoon, Minnesota United’s players got their first opportunity to tour Allianz Field as a team, now complete save for a few finishing touches here and there. They were welcomed to the Field Club on the ground floor by Managing Partner Dr. Bill McGuire and CEO Chris Wright, who asked them to make themselves at home.
And so, given free rein to check out the new digs, they headed to the home locker room, taking in the club facilities and amenities appreciatively while snapping photos on their phones. Goalkeeper Coach John Pascarella, who was with Sporting Kansas City when they opened Children’s Mercy Park in 2011, noted that he felt there were a lot of similarities between SKC at that moment and Minnesota United right now, especially in terms of how they worked to stake their claim as part of the culture in Kansas City.
