It’s official: the 2021 MLS season will kick off on April 17. If soccer hasn’t been top of the mind the past year or so, we understand. To catch you up, we’re taking a look back at the 2020 season to refresh everyone on what happened and set the stage for what’s to come.
MLS is Back Tournament
The Loons began 2020 with strong back-to-back road wins before the season was suspended due to COVID-19, but they picked up right where they left off at the MLS is Back Tournament in Orlando, Florida. With an eye towards resuming the regular season following the tournament, the league awarded teams regular season during the group stage with a chance to earn a spot in the 2021 Concacaf Champions League awarded to the champion.
