The news, and simultaneously Twitter, broke Friday morning. The United Soccer League (USL)’s team in Austin, Texas, will be named Austin Bold FC.
The jokes about the name sounding more appropriate for a font hit almost immediately and haven’s slowed down yet. Now I’m here to come up with some other bad names for clubs.

Sporting San Francisco Serif FC
It’s crucial that the name roll off the tongue, and this combination of S’s and F’s really does. And think of the nicknames: SSFSFC, SSF Serif FC, San Serif FC, Sporting San Fran Serif—really gets the saliva flowing, doesn’t it?
