NEW YORK -- In a throwback to the 1984 NBA Finals, Bird got the best of Magic again on Wednesday afternoon.
New York Yankees rookie Greg Bird hit a pair of two-run homers off Ervin "Magic" Santana, sending the Twins to a 4-3 defeat and a three-game series sweep at Yankee Stadium.
Bird, who started the Yankees' game-winning rally in the 10th inning on Monday night, connected on a Santana changeup in the fourth inning and again on a 1-0 fastball in the sixth.
Those were the 10th and 11th homers off Santana (2-4) this year in just 55 2/3 innings.
