CLEVELAND -- A Texas thunderstorm prevented Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe from making a mad dash into the lineup for Sunday's game against the Indians.
Plouffe was scheduled to fly into Cleveland at 11 a.m. (EDT) and play in the 1:10 p.m. series finale after missing Saturday's game to attend his grandfather's funeral. However, his flight out of Dallas-Fort Worth Airport was delayed almost two hours because of weather.
"I made it onto the plane and as soon as they closed the door, there was a huge downpour," he said.
Manager Paul Molitor made out a lineup with Plouffe batting cleanup against Indians starter Danny Salazar.
