Rookie Miguel Sano took the day off Wednesday to rest his strained right hamstring.
Sano hit his 15th home run of the season in Tuesday's 3-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox, but he struggled to jog around the bases.
"It's a tough thing," Molitor said. "I know he wants to play, and staying in the lineup from here on out is the most important part of the equation. To give him a day here, a day game following a night game heading into Houston, will it make a huge difference? I can't tell you exactly that.
