Twins sign top draft pick Tyler Jay

Byron Buxton arrived at Target Field Wednesday. Tyler Jay hopes to return with similar fanfare.

The Twins signed their 2015 first-round draft choice for the maximum $3.8 million bonus allotted to the No. 6 overall pick. The flame-throwing lefty this week will travel to Fort Myers, Fla., where he will start his professional career with the Class A Miracle.

"I've dreamed about it since I was 7 or 8 years old, and it's just nice that your dream comes true, just being here," Jay said during a news conference. "It's been a crazy thing."

Five of the top nine picks this year have been signed.
