Twins score two runs late to beat Yankees

MINNEAPOLIS -- Pinch-hitter Eduardo Escobar delivered a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning, while Eddie Rosario added two RBIs, including a run-scoring double in the eighth, to help the Twins to a 4-2 win over the Yankees in the series opener on Monday night at Target Field.

Yankees rookie first baseman Garrett Cooper went 3-for-4 with two doubles, including a game-tying double down the left-field line in the seventh. Meanwhile, right fielder Aaron Judge went 0-for-3 with an intentional walk to fall to 1-for-21 over his last four games, but he threw out Brian Dozier at home as he tried to score on a sacrifice fly in the third.
