Twins' Rosario homers on 1st pitch of his career (The Associated Press)

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota Twins outfielder Eddie Rosario homered on the first pitch he saw of his major league career against the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday night.

Rosario, who was called up from Triple-A Rochester two days ago, led off the third inning and sent a pitch from Scott Kazmir into the left-field seats.

The rookie smiled as he rounded the bases, sprinted into the dugout and promptly received the silent treatment from his teammates. But it didn't take long for the Twins' bench to stand up and start giving out high-fives.
