SEATTLE -- Right-hander Ricky Nolasco (elbow inflammation) made his first rehab start for Class A Cedar Rapids on Sunday afternoon.
He worked five innings on 67 pitches, giving up an unearned run on three hits, no walks and five strikeouts. His curveball was sharp.
"I thought I threw some really good curveballs there," Nolasco told reporters. "That was the main test -- if I could snap off that curveball."
Nolasco was eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Friday, but he seems likely to make at least one more rehab start in order to build up his pitch count.
