Ervin Santana finally broke the streak.
Before Santana's start on Sunday, no Twins starter had worked as many as six innings in eight consecutive games.
That's usually signals trouble, yet Minnesota went 6-2 in that span.
Credit the bullpen for that. During the eight-game stretch, Minnesota's relievers allowed just three earned runs in 35 2/3 innings, good for an 0.76 earned-run average.
"Everybody's just kind of picking each other up and we have confidence in each other," starter-turned-reliever Trevor May said. "Anybody who goes expects to throw zeros. So it's just been kind of a collective thing.
