ARLINGTON -- After being suspended by the Twins for the last six weeks following his arrest on the suspicion of drunk driving in Minneapolis on May 26, pitching coach Neil Allen was reinstated before Thursday's game against the Rangers.
Allen, who completed a five-week treatment program at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in Center City, Minn., on Tuesday, said he's come to terms with his alcoholism and wanted to thank owner Jim Pohlad, general manager Terry Ryan and president Dave St. Peter for their support. Allen said he had been sober for 22 years until drinking the night of his arrest.
