"Buddy Boshers is back and will help us with a fresh arm in the bullpen," Twins manager Paul Molitor said. "Kennys Vargas will supplement our three-man bench and turn it into four. It's the first time we've had to make a change here in the early stage of the season."
Vargas, 26, was hitting .227/.346/.432 with two homers and 10 RBIs in 12 games at Triple-A. He said he's continued to work on creating more lift on his swing to generate power, which helped him bounce back last year when he hit .230/.333/.500 with 10 homers and 11 doubles in 47 games with Minnesota.
