Doug Bernier thought he might have done something wrong when he was removed in the second inning of Triple-A Rochester's game Tuesday night.
"What'd I do?" Bernier asked Red Wings manager Mike Quade.
Quade smiled, shook Bernier's hand and said, "You're going to the big leagues."
Bernier was called up to replace Eduardo Nunez, headed to the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain.
Bernier, 34, has been summoned to the Twins for the third consecutive season and will serve as a utility infielder. He hit .239 with two doubles and six runs batted in this season for the Red Wings.
