Twins prospect Max Kepler pulled for shoulder pain

Double-A Chattanooga outfielder Max Kepler was removed from Wednesday's game with a sore left (throwing) shoulder and is day to day, Twins director of minor league operations Brad Steil said Thursday.

Asked if this could place Kepler in jeopardy of missing Sunday's All-Star Futures Game in Cincinnati, Steil reiterated that Kepler is day to day.

Enjoying a breakout season for the Lookouts, Kepler is one of two Twins farmhands selected for the annual prospect showcase. Right-hander Jose Berrios, recently promoted to Triple-A Rochester, was the other.

Kepler, 22, is hitting .331 with a combined on-base/slugging percentage of .
