MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed third baseman Miguel Sanó on the 10-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain (retro April 28). Sanó has played 20 games for the Twins this season, hitting .213 (17-for-80) with four doubles, five home runs, 14 RBI and nine walks.
To replace Sanó on the 25-man roster, the Twins have selected the contract of infielder Gregorio Petit from Triple-A Rochester. Petit, who was in spring training with the Twins, played in 17 games for the Red Wings, hitting .293 (17-for-58) with two doubles, one triple and six RBI.
