Twins: Phil Hughes, Trevor May to start Wednesday's doubleheader

BOSTON -- The mystery of the Twins' starting rotation this week was solved a bit Tuesday afternoon with the listing of Phil Hughes and Trevor May to start Wednesday's day-night doubleheader at Fenway Park.

Thursday's starter, which normally would be Kyle Gibson, could be Tommy Milone if the Twins determine Ricky Nolasco (right ankle) can't take his next turn Friday.

The Twins still could add a 26th player to the roster Wednesday, but it won't be a starter. A reliever such as Michael Tonkin would make sense, or it could be a position player (Kennys Vargas?) for a team already playing with a three-man bench while carrying 13 pitchers.
